Welcome to the Filter Bubble blog. For the next several months, I’ll be posting articles, observations, and news about the personalization of the Internet and my book, The Filter Bubble.

Joining me in this effort are Caitlin Petre, Julia Kamin, and Sam Novey, all of whom worked tirelessly as research assistants on the book and now know nearly as much about all this as I do. Their opinions are their own; I’ve encouraged them to argue with me here if they disagree.

Hope you enjoy! You can follow @elipariser on Twitter to get updates about the latest blog posts.

"The Filter Bubble shows how unintended consequences of well-meaning online designs can impose profound and sudden changes on politics. All agree that the Internet is a potent tool for change, but whether changes are for the better or worse is up to the people who create and use it. If you feel that the Web is your wide open window on the world, you need to read this book to understand what you aren't seeing."
